Abstract
With the growing concern over unemployment among Indonesia’s productive-age
population, this study investigates variables that may contribute to improving
graduates’ employability. In particular, it examines the link between academic
performance and employability in the context of higher education. The focus is on
undergraduate Management students at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta in their
6th and 8th semester, with the Human Capital Theory serving as a theoretical 7
reference to frame the relationship between academic performance measured
through Grade Point Average (GPA) and students employability in competing
within the business and management job market. Purposive sampling was applied
and data was collected from 104 students through an online questionnaire
distributed via Google Forms. Quantitative analysis using SPSS revealed a
significant positive relationship between academic performance and employability,
indicating that higher academic performance is associated with greater
employability opportunity, confidence, and readiness in entering the workforce.
