Article 5 of BPOM Regulation 14/2024 concerning the Supervision of Medicines
and Food Circulating Online generally regulaates that processed food products
circulating online must have a distribution permit in accordance with the
provisions of the legislation. Currently, the sale of unlicensed food products
circulating on the internet appears to be increasingly rampant and difficult to
eradicate. Unbeknownst to consumers, products without distribution permits can
pose a risk to their health. The objective of this research is to analyze the urgency
of monitoring trade through electronic systems for food products circulating in the
marketplace. This research employs a normative legal research method with a
normative legal approach, conceptual approach, principles, and relevant theories.
The results of this research indicate that electronic commerce supervision needs to
be developed and strengthened as much as possible. This supervision is necessary
to ensure consumer rights, namely the right to comfort, safety, and security in
consuming goods. Thus, all food products circulating should not cause adverse
consequences or endanger consumers.
