This study aims to examine the legal framework governing consumer
protection for patients in online healthcare services, focusing on Law Number 8 of
1999 on Consumer Protection. It evaluates the effectiveness of existing regulations
related to online healthcare services.
The research employs a normative legal method, utilizing primary legal
sources, particularly Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, and
secondary legal sources derived from books, journals, and relevant articles.
The findings indicate that legal protection for patients as consumers still
faces challenges due to the absence of specific regulations governing online
healthcare services. Although existing regulations complement each other, their
mechanisms remain unclear and have sparked debates among legal experts.
Therefore, specific regulations are needed to ensure better protection of patients
rights.
