This research is entitled "The Role of the Maritime Security Agency of the Republic
of Indonesia in Law Enforcement in the Indonesian Exclusive Economic Zone". This
study aims to determine the role of the Maritime Security Agency of the Republic of
Indonesia in law enforcement in Indonesia's exclusive economic zone. This
research was conducted using a normative method. The data used in this study is
primary data which is supported by secondary data. Data obtained from interviews
and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that the role of the Maritime
Security Agency in supporting the effective enforcement of sovereign rights in
Indonesia's exclusive economic zone is to synergize the implementation of security
and safety patrols in Indonesia's marine areas and the Marine Security Agency acts
as the main command holder. The weakness that still exists today is the overlapping
authority between the Maritime Security Agency and other law enforcement
agencies, so that the recommendation that can be given is to review the contents of
Law Number 32 of 2014 concerning the Sea. Given this legal basis is very weak in
the implementation of the Maritime Security Agency as law enforcement. The
review of this law aims to strengthen the legal basis of the Maritime Security Agency
as the main law enforcer in the marine area which also includes the Indonesian
Exclusive Economic Zone
