Abstract
Student mental health issues, particularly burnout, are prevalent due to academic stress,
extracurricular commitments, and personal challenges. Traditional methods for assessing
burnout, such as surveys using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), are inefficient and fail
to align with the preferences of digitally native Generation Z students. Additionally, no mobile
applications in Bahasa Indonesia currently address this need. Therefore, this study aims to
design a user-friendly mobile application interface to assess burnout levels in students.
The research employs a usability engineering lifecycle, starting with in-depth interviews to
understand the user needs of 20 participants, followed by iterative design and refinement
involving students and UI/UX experts. The iterative process includes developing an initial
prototype, incorporating user feedback, and conducting usability testing to finalize the app
design.
The study focuses on students from Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, aiming to create an
innovative solution for improving mental health assessment and awareness among university students.
