This study aims to analyze the implementation of legal aid for female workers who
experience unilateral termination of employment by employers, as well as the
effectiveness of the assistance provided in advocating for workers’ normative rights.
This research employs an empirical legal research method using statutory and case
approaches. Data were obtained through interviews and document studies, which
were analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that the legal aid provided by the
Projotamansari Legal Aid Center has been implemented in accordance with the
Manpower Law as amended by the Job Creation Law, the Industrial Relations
Dispute Settlement Law, and the Legal Aid Law. The assistance was provided
comprehensively and free of charge, covering every stage of industrial dispute
resolution, including bipartite negotiations, tripartite mediation, and litigation
before the Industrial Relations Court. The implementation of legal aid has proven
effective in helping female workers understand their legal position and assert their
rights in accordance with Article 156 of the Manpower Law, which includes
severance pay, long-service pay, and compensation of rights. This is reflected in the
cases of Mrs. Theresia Sujirah and Mrs. Yohana Krisma, who, despite pursuing
different dispute resolution mechanisms, ultimately obtained fulfillment of their
termination compensation rights.
