This paper aims to examine the implementation of profit-sharing agreements on
agricultural land between landowners and cultivators. This paper will examine
applicable legal provisions, specifically Law Number 2 of 1960 concerning Profit-
Sharing Agreements, to determine whether these provisions comply with statutory
regulations. Data were obtained from interviews and a literature review of relevant
laws and regulations.
The results of this study indicate that profit-sharing agreements between cultivators
and landowners are often informal and verbal. This weakens legal protection for
both parties and can trigger disputes. Therefore, the role of village governments is
needed to facilitate the creation of written agreements and increase community legal
awareness, as well as create legal certainty in profit-sharing agreements on agricultural land.
