This study aims to analyze the obligation to possess a Statement of
Environmental Management and Monitoring Capability (SPPL) as an effort to
prevent environmental pollution at Pasar Legi Kotagede, Yogyakarta City. The
research instrument consists of a set of interview questions designed to gather
information from various stakeholders, namely the Environmental Agency, Pasar
Legi traders, and the Yogyakarta City Trade Office. The questions focus on the
duties and functions of the related agencies, understanding and implementation of
SPPL, obstacles and socialization efforts, procedures for submitting environmental
documents, the current condition of environmental management at Pasar Legi, and
traders’ expectations regarding cleanliness and environmental management.
Through this approach, the study seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the
implementation of the SPPL obligation and the roles of stakeholders in maintaining
environmental quality in traditional markets.
