This study aims to analyze the supervisory function of the Regional People's
Representative Council (DPRD) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province in realizing
the principles of Good Governance. The supervisory function is one of the main
tasks of the DPRD in carrying out its role as a regional legislative body that has
the responsibility of ensuring that regional governance takes place in a transparent,
accountable, participatory, and effective and efficient manner. This research uses a
qualitative approach with data collection methods through interviews,
documentation studies, and observation. The results showed that the NTT
Provincial DPRD has carried out the supervisory function through various
mechanisms, including working meetings with local government partners, working
visits, as well as the utilization of the right of interpellation, the right of inquiry,
and the right to express an opinion. However, in its implementation there are still
various obstacles, such as limited human resources, and political pressure or
interests that can affect the independence of the DPRD. These constraints have
resulted in a less-than-optimal role for DPRDs in realizing Good Governance.
Therefore, strategic steps are needed to strengthen the institutional capacity of
DPRDs, build transparent information systems, and strengthen healthy
partnerships between DPRDs and local governments to support the achievement of
Good Governance in the Province of NTT.
