The aim of the research is to determine the impact of mountain rock mining on
environmental damage and the application of law to mountain rock mining which
damages the environment in the North Toraja Regency area. By using empirical
legal research methods, it also aims to determine the role of the government in
handling these cases and provide education to the public on the importance of
protecting the environment for the continuation of human life. In this research, we
can also find out the efforts made by related agencies such as the environmental
service in carrying out supervision related to mountain rock mining activities, and
analyze what things are obstacles in carrying out efforts to protect the environment
from damage caused by mining activities in the North Toraja Regency area.
