Abstract

This study examines how effective communication in mentoring can enhance interns’
sense of belonging to an organization. The problem addressed is the challenge companies face
in retaining young talent amid a global skills shortage. Using a quantitative method with
standardized questionnaires and statistical analyses, the research finds that factors such as
social engagement and professional competence of mentors significantly influence belonging.
The results indicate that structured communication within mentoring can strengthen interns’
motivation and organizational attachment, thereby supporting young talent retention.
