Abstract
Waste management is defined as a systematic, comprehensive, and
continuous activity that includes waste reduction and handling. This study aims to identify the roles and challenges experienced by market traders in
waste management. The research method used in this study is empirical legal research, which is the implementation of law in the real world. Waste management, as an effort to prevent environmental pollution, is regulated under Law Number 18 of 2008 concerning waste management. The role of traders in market waste management has been carried out well but is not yet optimal.
