Some higher order accurate numerical procedures have been developed for solving acoustic equations for 3-dimensional problems. They are based on Yee's FDTD scheme, leapfrog scheme is used for temporal discretization and 4-th, 6-th and 8-th order compact implicit finite-differences are used for spatial discretization. The accuracy of the present procedure are demonstrated by application to benchmark problem. The present procedures give a lower error than Yee's FDTD sche me.
