The use of Kasultanan Land for residential purposes by the community
must be accompanied by written permission from the Kraton
Ngayogyakarta, with the issuance of Serat Kekancingan as valid proof of
its utilization. However, there are still members of the community who use
and utilize Kasultanan Land without possessing Serat Kekancingan. This
research aims to identify the reasons why people have used and utilized
Kasultanan Land as residential housing without having Serat
Kekancingan in Kemantren Kraton, Yogyakarta City. In addition, this
research also aims to determine what actions will be taken by the Kraton
Ngayogyakarta towards residents who have used and utilized Kasultanan
Land for residential purposes without possessing Serat Kekancingan.
This study shows that the reason the community still uses and utilizes
Kasultanan Land without possessing Serat Kekancingan is because the
Kasultanan Land occupied by the people in Kemantren Kraton, Yogyakarta
City, originates from their ancestors or has been used and utilized through
hereditary succession.
