Abstract

A segregated account system is an important mechanism in protecting customer
funds and ensuring the security of online transactions in brokerage firms, such as
PT Valbury Asia Futures. This study aims to examine the implementation of a
segregated account system by PT Valbury Asia Futures, regarding the legal
problems that arise in protecting customers in online transactions. The method used
in this study is empirical law which focuses on collecting field data through
interviews with internal parties of the company and facts from the practice of
implementing a segregated account system in operational activities. This study
explores in more depth how the system is implemented, the regulations and their
effects on the security and transparency of transactions carried out by customers in
transactions on the futures exchange. The results of the study indicate that the
segregated account system implemented by PT Valbury Asia Futures provides
protection by separating customer funds from company funds, through a segregated
account system in accordance with the provisions of regulations in the regulations
issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Indonesia. However, there are
challenges in its implementation, especially in terms of supervision and compliance
with applicable regulations.
