This study examines the liquid waste management practices of Sahid Batam Center
Hotel and Convention through its wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) to prevent
environmental pollution in Batam City. Utilizing empirical legal research methods,
this study explores how the hotel processes liquid waste from operations such as
laundry, kitchens, and guest rooms, ensuring compliance with environmental
standards. The research also identifies challenges, including operational costs and
public complaints regarding unpleasant odors. Recommendations are proposed to
improve IPAL efficiency and foster collaboration between the hotel and the Batam
City Environmental Agency. This research highlights the importance of sustainable
waste management practices in the hospitality sector to safeguard the environment.
