Abstract

This research examines the supervision conducted by the Environmental Agency (DLH)
on the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3 waste) at Siloam Hospital as a
preventive effort against environmental pollution in Yogyakarta City. The study
employs a normative-empirical legal approach, combining statutory analysis and field
data through interviews with relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that the
Environmental Agency has implemented a series of monitoring, guidance, and law
enforcement measures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. However,
several challenges remain, including limited resources and the need for increased
awareness among hospital staff regarding proper waste management procedures. The
research concludes that effective supervision and collaboration between government
agencies and healthcare institutions are crucial in preventing environmental pollution
and achieving sustainable urban environmental management.
