Abstract
This study discusses law enforcement by the Yogyakarta Special Region Police
(DIY) against perpetrators who employ children in the entertainment industry.
Children as a vulnerable group have the right to be protected from exploitation,
including in the entertainment sector which is prone to violations of the law. This
study aims to identify how the DIY Regional Police carry out their law enforcement
function in taking action against these violations and the obstacles faced in the law
enforcement process. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data
collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results
of the study indicate that the DIY Regional Police have made enforcement efforts in
accordance with applicable laws and regulations, but there are still challenges in
cross-sector supervision and coordination. Effective law enforcement requires
synergy between law enforcement officers, local governments, and the community
to prevent and take action against violations involving children in the entertainment
industry. This study is expected to provide recommendations for improving law
enforcement policies and practices for optimal child protection in the DIY region.
