Abstract

The development of science and technology that is happening today certainly has a
lot of impact on society, this impact can be in the form of positive or negative
impacts. Negative impacts that occur on society such as the emergence of criminal
acts in the field of health sciences such as the abuse of non-prescription drugs. One
drug that is abused is trihexyphenidyl. This study discusses the factors that cause
trihexyphenidyl abuse and efforts and obstacles in law enforcement of
trihexyphenidyl abuse in Sleman Regency. The methodology used is empirical legal
research, obtained from respondent interviews, supported by primary and
secondary data sources and analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of the
study show that the factors causing Trihexyphenidyl abuse in Sleman Regency are
divided into internal factors and external factors. There are two internal factors,
namely high curiosity and a lack of a strong foundation of religious knowledge. The
external factors that drive the circulation and abuse of trihexyphenidyl are
economic factors, family factors, and social environmental factors. Law
enforcement efforts against the crime of trihexyphenidyl abuse in Sleman Regency
consist of repressive efforts combined with prevention efforts.
