ABSTRACT
This legal research discusses the comparison of legal protection for drivers with
online transportation companies between Indonesia and Singapore as part of
transformation in the employment sector. The problem raised in this research is
comparing the legal relationship and legal protection of drivers with online
transportation companies in Indonesia and Singapore. The method used is
normative legal research, namely by conducting a review using positive law that
applies in each country as the object of study to carry out comparisons using
secondary data consisting of primary legal material and secondary legal material.
The research results showed that the legal relationship between drivers and online
transportation companies in Indonesia is a partnership, while in Singapore their
legal relationship is recognized as workers even though their rights and obligations
are regulated slightly differently from workers in general. Then, the legal protection
for drivers with online transportation companies in Indonesia is based on a general
agreement (KUHPer), while in Singapore there is a platform workers act that has
been passed and is in effect to specifically regulate the legal protection given to drivers.
