This research aims to determine the role of the community and the obstacles experienced
by the Regional Government in implementing Article 66 of Sleman Regency Regulation
Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of Waste Management as an Effort to
Reduce Waste in Kapanewon Depok. This research is an empirical study focusing on social
facts. This study uses primary and secondary data sources. The results of the study show
that the Depok Kapanewon Regional Government has also made efforts, namely
socialization to the community who have not yet formed community groups in their
respective hamlets and the community who already have the awareness to manage their
waste independently, namely by forming community groups and cooperating with waste
collection services. The obstacles faced are the large amount of waste that must be
transported by the collection service is also one of the factors that causes waste in the
public, because the waste is flying on the road.
