This thesis is entitled Oversight of the Ombudsman of the Republic of
Indonesia Against Indihome Consumer Data Leaks in View of the Consumer
Protection Act. This thesis analyzes how the Ombudsman of the Republic of
Indonesia responds to problems related to data leaks that exist with Indihome
consumers. The rapid development of technology has resulted in everyone
indirectly having to use the internet. PT Telkom Indonesia is a company that
provides internet services and one of the products it produces is Indihome. The
services provided do not always run smoothly, and many problems occur, one of
which is data leakage. Because of this, this thesis was written to find out more
about the supervision of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia against this
data leak. This research is a normative research supported by primary and
secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews and secondary data
was obtained from regulations, namely journals, the internet, and legal facts.
After that, it was concluded that the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia had
carried out supervision related to the issue of data leakage by carrying out the
Ombudsman Quick Response (RCO) mechanism and conducting public
discussions with related parties in terms of protecting consumer personal data.
PT Telkom still needs improvement so that consumer rights can be fulfilled, and
the Ombudsman is also expected to always carry out supervisory duties related to
public services more strictly, and routinely conduct public discussions, not only
about the leakage of Indihome data, but in various aspects so that people can
trust the party more who have been authorized to listen to the existing reports.
