Globalization in trade can be seen in electronic transaction that require a place to
trading activities such as Tokopedia. Business actors offer products to consumers,
but when the products are received, the product nonconformity. This study aims to
analyze the legal protection and responsibility of business actors and Tokopedia
against product nonconformities. Therefore, the formulation of the problem in this
study is: How is the legal protection against non-conformance of products received
by consumers through Tokopedia based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning
Consumer Protection? The research method used is normative legal research and
the secondary data technique used is an interview technique, to consumers were
disadvantaged by providing answers based on prepared questions. From the results
of the study, it concludes in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer
Protection is expected to be a legal guideline in resolving cases of violations of
rights and obligations by business actors. Tokopedia gives responsibility for losses
due to product discrepancies experienced by consumers by resolving consumer
disputes through a resolution center and the responsibility of business actors is that
if the business actor causes harm to consumers, then he is obliged to provide
compensation in form of products or money.
