Abstract

Weaving is the result of traditional yarn craft using machineless or ATBM
weaving tools. Fabric crafts are a promising business. People living around the fabric
area receive welfare, but there are also people who are disadvantaged due to the fabric
craft business. One of the public's complaints is in relation to the liquid waste generated
in the production of fabrics, causing water pollution. There are many textile
entrepreneurs who throw liquid waste directly into the river. This is because several
pipes that distribute the waste to the Wastewater Treatment Station (ETE) are
damaged, so that few textile entrepreneurs discard their waste at the ETE. This has the
potential to cause environmental pollution problems. North Wanarejan Village is one
of many villages in Pemalang Regency, Central Java. North Wanarejan Village is a
village that produces fabric crafts, the fabric crafts in North Wanarejan Village has
been around since 1942. Basically, waste is generated from the fabric dyeing process
using synthetic dyes with a dyeing process that produces liquid waste hazardous
materials and reduces environmental quality. Waste generated in fabric production
must not be disposed of directly into the environment and the resulting waste must be
processed first before being released into the environment and commercial actors must
have a license to dispose of production waste. The waste generated in the production
of fabrics is discarded directly into ditches or rivers that can change the color of the
river water and emit an unpleasant odor. That based on the PP, the liquid waste
produced from the production of fabrics can reduce the quality of the environment,
threatening the survival of the community and making the river water no longer clean,
even dangerous if consumed directly by the community and cause health problems.
