Abstract

The use of plastic in various activities or activities has the potential to cause
pollution, including marine pollution. The problem in this research is how to prevent
sea pollution in the Sawaibu Bay in Manokwari Regency and what are the obstacles
to prevent sea pollution in the Sawaibu Bay in Manokwari Regency. This research is
an empirical legal research, data collected through literature study and interviews
with respondents or informants. The findings in this study are that the waste in
Sawaibu Bay, especially Mansinam Island and Lemon Island, comes from the
remnants of community activities or activities that live on the coast of Manokwari
Regency. The people who live on the coast of Manokwari Regency do not have the
awareness to dispose of garbage in its place. As a result, there is a pile of garbage on
Mansinam Island and Lemon Island. The conclusion in this study is that the
government has made efforts to prevent sea pollution, but these efforts have not been
running optimally. Suggestions in this study are the government needs to pay
attention to the provision of infrastructure and tourism management facilities so that
it can run well.
