Green open space is the most important part in urban spatial planning.
Considering that the area of a city that cannot be expanded, the use of space must
be optimized. The purpose of this study is to discover about the implementation of
the provision of green open space along with the obstacles faced by the
government in implementing green open space provision. This research is a type
of juridical empirical legal research that is descriptive character, by taking the
location in Magelang City. The type of data used is primary data obtained through
interviews with sources and secondary data obtained by literature study.
Magelang Cit y’s green open space is still at a presentation of 16.3% or where
ideally public green open space is 20% whereas for private green open space it is
19.11%. It conclude that Magelang City has reached the ideal minimum amount
of private green open space, which is 10%. There are still several obstacles in the
implementation of providing green open space in Magelang City. Therefore, the
government is trying to increase the area of green open space that is still lacking
with various strategies and development directions.
