The increasing number of legal problems in Indonesia which is increasingly
developing is the background of this research because of the custom of the Dayak
Kenyah customary community in Tanjung Selor District to use homemade
firearms in hunting wild animals that are difficult to release. The research
objective was to determine how the handling of criminal acts against the use of
homemade firearms in the Dayak Kenyah customary law community in Tanjung
Selor District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. The formulation of the
problem that was taken by the researcher was how the implementation of the
prevention of criminal acts against the use of homemade firearms in the Dayak
Kenyah customary law community in Tanjung Selor District, North Kalimantan.
The analytical method used in this research is empirical, where data is obtained
from statutory regulations, books, journals, theses, the internet, interviews with
the Head of the Dayak Kenyah Traditional Institute in North Kalimantan and the
Bulungan Police Kurbinopsnal and filling out a questionnaire with 10 successful
respondents. and willing to fill out a questionnaire from Jelarai Village because it
is one that can be reached. The conclusion of this research is that the handling of
criminal acts committed by the police has been carried out by means of
prevention such as socialization and community approaches as well as
eradication by imposing criminal sanctions on the perpetrators.
