This research is entitled "The Role of Walhi Yogyakarta in Controlling Pollution
in the Gajah Wong River according to Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning
Environmental Protection and Management". This study aims to determine the role
of Walhi Yogyakarta City in controlling pollution in the Gajah Wong River and to
determine the depths faced by Walhi Kota Yogyakarta in controlling pollution in
the Gajah Wong River. This study uses an empirical method, which focuses on
social facts and uses primary data as the main data and supported by secondary
data. The data obtained from respondents and sources were analyzed descriptively
qualitatively. The conclusion of this study is that various efforts have been made by
Walhi Kota Yogyakarta in controlling water pollution in the Gajah Wong River but
it is still not optimal because there are several obstacles
