ASTUTI, PARAMITHA DWI (2019) DESIGNING A SUPPORTING TOOL FOR HANDHELD BAMBOO FAN PRODUCTION PROCESS. S1 thesis, UAJY.

Abstract

Banyu Biru Craft is one of the micro-scales industries in Jipangan, Bantul, that
provides bamboo hand-held fan. As the company that has been running for more
than 10 years, Banyu Biru Craft still cannot compete in the bigger market. The
product of this company is considered as a low quality product that there are still
many untidy parts founded in the product. Through the observation and interview, it
is identified that irregular distance of the frame’s fingers becomes the main reason
for their low quality product. They carry out the production with minimum facilities ad
standard applied. This becomes the main problem that causes the low quality of
product. A supporting tool then is designed to fulfill the workers requirements. This
supporting tool will help them to produce better quality of product. The tool is
designed also by using the workers anthropometric data. This will enable the
workers to work in convenient. Rational method is used in the design process and a
prototype is made to be implemented on the production.
