Abstract

Papua Province was one of the provinces that has the biggest potential in
Indonesia. That was evidenced by one of the biggest copper companies in the world
was operates in Tembagapura, Mimika. This thesis was discussed how the
responsibilities of the Environmental Agency to build the image for activities in
Mimika. This thesis used empirical legal research. The data was collected through
the interviews with respondents and resources persons as well as literature. The
conclusions of this thesis were the Environmental Agency was responsible for
disbursed funds for the environment, overcame environmental damage pollution,
and restored environmental quality. Mimika district government was invited to
increase the capacity of legal HR drafted through training or capacity building
