This is an essay about The Sovereignty of The State in Respect of The Right of
Airplanes Over The Airspace of The Conflict Area (A Case Study on Malaysia
Airlines MH17 Flight Shooting in the air space Eastern Ukraine 1n 2014). The
research method used is Normative Research, Library Research at Atmajaya
University Yogyakarta and Internet Media. MH17 Malaysian plane crash in
Ukraine 2014, all 298 people on board a Malaysia Airlines plane died after the
airline crashed in eastern Ukraine, close to the border with Russia. The shot of
the Malaysia Airlines MH17 in Ukraine is a very tragic event. The violation of the
no-fly zone became one of the underlying causes. The no-fly zone is very
important for internasional flight as well national flights. There is no agreement
between Malaysia and Ukraine about cross rights, both countries are still using
the Chicago Convention 1944.
