This research explained the existence of children who have the rights of welfare,
care and protection of the environment for their life. However, the progresses
today, thousands of boys and girls were recruited into armed forces or rebellion
groups to serve as combatants, cooks, porters, messengers or other roles in armed
conflict. Some girls were also recruited for sexual or forced marriage purposes
during the conflict. The conditions have happened in Nigeria, particularly the
rebellion group Boko Haram recruited children to engage in armed conflict. Boko
Haram has kidnapped, sexually harassment, assaults the children on schools and
used children for bombing suicide attacks. The thesis used deductive methods to
find out how the general protection for children under International Humanitarian
Law and from the research will obtain how protection for children who become
suicide bombers. International Humanitarian Law regulates that the State parties
have obligation to guarantee the children who are victims of armed conflict to
receive proper care for their recovery and social reintegration. From the research it
is known, The ICRC as an international humanitarian organization engages in the
reintegration of children who have ever became the members of armed forces or
armed groups and provides psychosocial support to children in families, schools
and communities.
